  Museum of Natural History and of Man

  This museum is located in an old building of the capital, the Hospital Civil de Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados, which dates back to 1745. It includes the Bioanthropology Institute of the Canary Islands and the Museum of Archaeology and Natural History. There are important archaeological findings on display from the culture of the Guanches, the original inhabitants of the Canary Islands. Part of the museum is dedicated to the volcanism of the Island and its biodiversity.

  TEA - Tenerife Space for the Arts

  This architectural complex – designed by Herzog & de Meuron – of about 20,622 square metres houses the “Óscar Domínguez Institute” contemporary museum, the “Isla de Tenerife” centre of photography, and a large library. The museum also has an auditorium, a restaurant, a bar, a public square, many offices, and shops.

  Municipal Museum of Fine Arts

  This museum houses an extensive collection of Flemish paintings from the 16th to the 19th centuries, as well as paintings from the Museo del Prado in Madrid (including some of Ribera and Brueghel). Among the activities of the museum are guided tours, lectures and concerts.
