Breathtaking views and deep gorges with lush flora: a paradise for photographers and lovers of mountain landscapes
Masca is a small village perched on the Teno Massif at about 800 metres above the sea level. It is the most charming and picturesque village in Tenerife. To get there you need to travel on winding roads that overlook breath-taking views and deep gorges with lush flora: a paradise for photographers and lovers of mountain landscapes.
Masca is the starting point for one Tenerife´s most popular excursions: the Barranco de Masca (the Masca Gorge). From the village, you can walk along the gorge, descending directly to the sea until you reach a small bay once considered a refuge for pirates. The gorge is characterised by its lush vegetation, palm trees and small streams where insects, butterflies, and amphibians gather. We recommend that you book a guided tour, and for less fit hikers, we advise the return by boat to the nearby village of Los Gigantes.
