Amarilla Golf is an 18 hole championship golf course located on the southern coast of Tenerife, in San Miguel de Abona. The character of the 18 hole course is marked by the incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean and the exclusive San Miguel Marina.

Amarilla Golf in Tenerife is one of life’s hidden gems, probably the best Tenerife golf course, it hosted a round of the PGA European tour in 1990; designed by Donald Steel in the late nineteen eighties it features an imaginatively designed golf course sandwiched between the bright blue Atlantic Ocean and Spain’s highest mountain, the majestic El Teide. Playing golf in Tenerife in mid winter wearing just shorts and polo shirt with the sun reflecting off the water and with the often snow capped peak of El Teide in the opposite direction can compensate for almost any amount of duffed shots.
Tenerife’s Amarilla Golf is set among residential and holiday accommodation with about half the fairways having villas or apartments running along part of their length.
Amarilla golf now has a further attraction, the new 344 berth San Miguel marina is situated just off the twelfth tee and the sight of these sleek yachts enjoying the sunshine and warm weather sailing in Tenerife just adds to the pleasure of playing golf in Tenerife.
Amarilla Golf Club is an official golf club based at the course but doesn’t own the golf course; it consists of some 200 plus member, mainly British expats but with a sprinkling of other nationalities, the club runs competitions every Thursday and Sunday morning. Marina San Miguel – Puerto Deportivo en Amarilla Golf
Marina San Miguel is situated at the bottom of Amarilla Golf in Tenerife; is the latest Tenerife marina; it offers 344 berths, water sport activities and all services of marinas. One of the most popular spots in marina San Miguel is the upper deck at the entry to the marina, this gives a fabulous view of the sea and the instantly recognizable Montana Roja by the airport, while looking inland one sees the fairways of Amarilla Golf and Country Club and of course El Teide. The most spectacular of the activities on offer in the San Miguel Marina is the opportunity to experience the underwater world from the comfort and safety of a submarine. Tenerife yellow submarine takes visitors on a tour of the surrounding sea bed to watch fish, turtles and other sea life from the air conditioned comfort of their specially designed submarine.
In Marina San Miguel there are also a Scuba diving school, Jet Ski hire, dinghy sailing, catamarans for hire and a sailing school and a company offering both sailing instruction as well as power boat courses. Also available skippered yacht charters and bare boat charters. -
